The general agreement concerning financing of the project: „System of providing and disseminating information in order to support the strategic implementation of climate and energy policy” (LIFE Climate CAKE PL), between the Institute of Environmental Protection –  National Research Institute (IOŚ-PIB) and the European Commission as well as The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management was signed on the 27`th of July 2017. The concept of the project has been developed at The National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBiZE), which is also responsible for its implementation. The value of the project is approximately PLN 10.4 million. Contribution from the European Commission under the LIFE Program amounts to approx. PLN 6.16 million and the co-financing from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management PLN 2.09 million. The project will be conducted from September 2017 to November 2020. Building the human capacity and analytical tool-box to provide a high quality information is one of the highest priorities. One of the most significant advantages of the project is its sustainability. The concept assumes that the expert team as well as analytical tool-box will be continuously used and providing a platform for networking and sharing best achievements after the project is completed. It is also assumed that the project outcomes will be replicable among member states and institutions.

This unique project is highly supported by stakeholders engaged in climate and energy policy development and implementation, what has been clearly addressed in a number of endorsement letters received from governmental officials of both Poland and other EU Member States, Members of the European Parliament, NGOs and scientific institutions.
